We are here to help. At some point in our lives we all have stressful times. We can be impacted by such things as financial pressures, unexpected difficulties, unemployment, or stressful situation such as the current outbreak of the coronavirus (COVD-19).  Check out resources below to help you with your needs.

Calgary Housing Support – To be eligible for the affordable housing program, applicants must have an income below income limits as determined by the market for that community.

The Community housing Program provides subsidized rental housing to low-income families, seniors and individuals who cannot afford other housing options due to circumstances.  Each individual’s income is based on 30% of their annual income. Rent does not include electricity, phone, TV and other additional services such as parking.

Alberta Income Support – There are a number of emergency financial relief programs to help those in need of assistance during COVID-19 pandemic.

What is covered under Alberta Income Support?

  • Food
  • Clothing
  • child care
  • transportation
  • damage deposit
  • temporary accommodation
  • utilities arrears
  • eviction payments (you must repay this money if you need help with eviction payments more than once)

Self-help

In tough times we can be more vulnerable to stress, worry, anxiety and depression. It is important to take care of ourselves. Tough time don’t last. Tough people do.  Traumatic or unsettling events, most of the time unexpected, can have a significant impact on your mental and physical health.  Remember, it is normal to feel stress.  Everyone who goes through a traumatic event is affected in some way. Sometimes these stresses may not appear for weeks or months following an event. It is important to take care of ourself.
